I bought a shower door and had a "friend" of mine install it, he seemed to do a pretty good job on everything except the sealing/silicone. He used GE outdoor silicone, and put almost nothing in the corners or around the edges. The main problem is that he did not put any silicone under the bottom rack, so it is completely loose, and has no seal as well. The silcione he used hasn't really dried even after 4 days, and looks more like a gel than rubber. I think the best way to fix it would be to take the whole door out, and have it re-installed properly. However, if I go this route, how would the old silicone be removed, especially if it's not dried up? When I touched it, it just smears and leaves a residue. Also, how much am I looking at for someone to remove the door, clean it up, and replace it? They're CW bypass doors for reference.
