My floors are being re done, and the first coat of (I believe) polyurethane has been put down today. The odor of course is strong. Strangely, the basement smells like wires suddenly. Should I worry?

Nothing is turned on in the basement, and I've never experienced an odor down here. As you walk down the steps, you can smell the sealer but right as you hit the bottom step, the basement has sort of a wire like smell. It's hard to explain.

Is the seal odor for some reason changing in the basement? Or is something coincidently burning? Is it common for one part of the house to have a different odor from the seal?
