Method for touching up oil based paint on floor

I recently painted an old pine floor with Oil Based Floor and Porch paint. I've noticed a few areas that the finish isn't as glossy and were rougher than the rest of the floor. I lightly sanded the areas with 220 sand paper and then did a thin coat of paint over them. It's been a few days and the areas I touched up aren't glossy around the edges. Is there another way to touch up these spots or should I just re-paint the whole thing?
