How should I insulate/air-seal this little side roof space?
I have found myself pulling apart the walls in the down stairs room pictured in my crude mspaint profile view of the house.
I'm pretty comfortable with the exterior wall - plan is poor man's spray foam (foam board with spray foam "picture frame" around it) and rockwool insulation in the wall cavities.
What should I do in the little side roof space? There's no ventilation in that ceiling cavity, save for whatever air exchange happens from fairly loose soffit construction (a lot of daylight comes through). Becasue of that, I was thinking that I would treat it like a hot roof, place some spacers below the roof decking, and do the same insulation plan as the wall cavitites. Now I'm wondering if I should attempt to modify my plan, and get rockwool up in ceiling over that secion with a foamboard + spray foam seal, but leave the cavity and the decking open.
Thoughts? Brilliant ideas? Product recommendations that I'll kick myself for not knowing about before?
