I woke up this morning and found that all of the recessed lighting in my basement is not working. Also, a light just outside the basement's exterior door is not working. The basement lighting is controlled by 2 switches, one at the foot of the stairs, and one at the inside of the exterior door. The exterior light is controlled by a single switch on the same switch plate as the second basement lightswitch.
I went to my panel and found no circuits tripped. Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure which circuit the lights are on. Most of the panel is well labeled, but there is one 15-amp circuit that is unlabeled, and another that just says "lights + plugs", and I could not find anything in the house that stopped working when I turned either of them off. There is also a single breaker for two unlabeled 15-amp circuits, but I am assuming that this would be used for something other than lighting.
I went around my house and checked every GFCI, testing and resetting, so I don't think that is the issue.
Is there anything else I can check as a fairly inexperienced homeowner before I have to call in an electrician? Thanks!
