Recently purchased this home as a first-time buyer. It's in a rapidly growing area full of 1940s craftsman colonials and brick homes. It's the only one with this kind of siding, and I'm not sure what to do with it. I've heard it referred to as "permastone", and it appears to be more of a veneer made out of concrete.
I really don't like it... I think the pattern and the color is ugly. Perhaps removing the awning and changing the landscaping would help, but I'm not sure if that would be enough.
Is this something that can or should be painted? I did try a mockup in Photoshop of re-coloring the siding and shutters as well as removing the awnings, and I think it looks better this way, but maybe I just have bad taste.
Any ideas on how I can improve the look of this house would be greatly appreciated... I'm feeling a bit limited with my options.
